TextEmail Capabilities
TextMail
With TextMail you can send and receive SMS text messages from any email system. You just compose an email with the phone numbers of the recipients in the email’s “To” field, and you enter your text message content within the email body, and then send it over to us.
This is a simple and highly effective email-to-SMS service, with the following capabilities:
- » Each recipient’s phone number is entered in the “To” field in the form of @domain.net
- » Any number of recipients can be included within the “To” field
- » Subject and email body fields are sent to the recipients as one or more text messages
- » Decide whether to send the entire email or just one SMS’ worth of the email
- » Receive replies to your messages directly in to your “Inbox”
- » Send your choice of 11 characters with the SMS, to identify your organisation as the sender
- » Receive delivery confirmations in to your “Inbox”
- » Your user email address is used for verification and security
- » Further security is added through both an optional PIN and an IP address lock-down feature
- » Supported on all email platforms
- » Can be used to send automated text messages from applications that send out emails
- » With TextMail you just pay for the messages you send – there are no setup or standing charges
TextOMS
TextOMS enables you to utilise the text message capability of Microsoft Outlook 2007 to send SMS messages directly from within Outlook. The Outlook Mobile Service (OMS) is a function of Microsoft Outlook 2007 and enables you to send and receive SMS text messages using Outlook 2007, without the need for any additional software.
Within Outlook 2007 you just set the OMS service to send any messages through our TextOMS Web Service. To send a message you choose the “New Text Message” option from the “New” drop down menu, select the recipients from your address books (or type their numbers in directly), and press “Send”.
Our TextOMS service enables the Microsoft Outlook OMS service of Outlook 2007, providing you with the following capabilities:
- » Message recipients are chosen by clicking on the “To” button of the “New Text Message” form
- » Recipient numbers can also be entered directly in to the “To” field
- » As you enter the message body, OMS shows you how it will appear on an example handset
- » Your SMS is sent out as one or more text messages, depending on the message length
- » Receive replies to your messages directly in to your “Inbox”
- » Receive delivery confirmations in to your “Inbox”
- » Schedule messages for later delivery
- » Forward email messages as text messages
- » Set Outlook notifications to be sent to you as text messages
- » Have your Outlook calendar schedule and reminders forwarded to you as text messages
- » Messages are sent from Outlook OMS to our SMS Gateways via a secure HTTPS link
- » Further security is added through email and password authentication
- » No additional software is required as OMS is a standard part of Microsoft Outlook 2007
- » With TextOMS you just pay for the messages you send – there are no setup or standing charges
