How can I limit the number of messages sent through my account?

You can choose to stop your account from sending messages when a certain number of messages have been sent through your account within a given period.

This facility is designed to be a safety valve on your account to ensure that any inappropriate use or automated applications that end up in a sending loop, only send up to your pre-defined threshold.

The Credits Used Block threshold can be set from the CREDITS USED ALERT left-hand menu option of the ADMINISTRATION PANEL.

To set the Credits Used Block threshold, enter the number of messages (in credits) at which point you would like the account to be stopped from sending any further messages, and select the time period over which the messages would be sent.

If the threshold is reached, your account will be unable to send any further messages. To restart sending messages, please reset this function to a higher number.

Please note that any messages not sent due to the threshold being exceeded, will not be sent once the threshold is increased, or the new period is entered (resetting the threshold to zero), for example at the beginning of the next day. You will need to send your messages again, once the threshold has been increased.

The threshold works across both the end-user applications and the automated developer services, including the web service, HTTP service and the email-to-SMS services.

To turn off this function, tick the DISABLE CREDITS USED ALERT box. If ticked, your account will only be blocked when the system’s blocking threshold is reached. This is the default setting for an account.

Please note that in addition to this threshold, there is a system maximum threshold setting for your account. If the value you enter for the Credits Used Block alert exceeds the system setting, then please contact us to have your maximum system value increased.
