Can I spread the sending of my SMS campaign during the day, to match my available resources?
Yes you can. The ability for the campaign to be sent over a period of time, rather than in one go (either scheduled or sent now), is known as Smoothing.
Smoothing an SMS campaign over a period of time helps to ensure that you have the right resources available to professionally manage recipients who respond to your SMS campaign.
The system enables you to set how much of your SMS campaign is sent over a given period. For example, you can upload a file of 20,000 recipients and tell the system to send 5,000 messages on the hour, each hour, for the next 4 hours. This is known as Sequential Smoothing.
Alternatively, you can tell the system to send 10% of your SMS campaign of 20,000 recipients between 10.00am and 11.00am, 30% between 11.00am and 12.00pm, and then 60% between 2.00pm and 3.00pm, for example. This is known as Staged Smoothing.
You have complete control over the smoothing parameters and set each parameter on a campaign-by-campaign basis.
Do we really only pay for messages that we send?
Yes, absolutely. There are no set-up fees, no monthly or annual charges, no per-user fees, no usage minimums, no reply charges, and no support costs. You just pay for the messages that you send.
How do we pay for the messages?
You can either purchase packs of messages in advance, or have a credit account which we invoice you for monthly. Messages purchased in advance enjoy preferential rates, and are purchased securely online with a credit or debit card. Just tell us when you register which account type you would like to have.
Can I evaluate your service with some free messages and no commitment to continue?
Yes, absolutely. Please do open an evaluation account with us, and we’ll give you 20 free messages to test our services. Your account will have full functionality. Just let us know how you would like to proceed once your evaluation has completed.
Is there a contract that commits me to staying with you?
Absolutely not. Opening an account with us doesn’t commit you to using our services for any length of time at all. You can decide to stop using our services at any time. We believe you should be free to come and go, and use our services as you wish.
I need a reliable service. When was your system last down?
Since we re-hosted on to managed platforms provided by Rackspace in March 2004, we have not had a single system outage. We have invested significantly in our network infrastructure to provide a highly resilient business-grade, always-available service to our 12,000 clients.
I need my messages delivered swiftly and consistently. How do you ensure this?
To start with, we only send our messages with UK operators. This ensures that the highest grade of message quality available is used to underpin our services. Also, we don’t rely on just one network partner to deliver your messages. We have multiple connections to multiple partners.
Do I need to be technical to use the service?
Absolutely not. The online user interface has been designed to be simple and easy to use.
Are there online reports to keep an eye on how the service is being used?
Yes there are. Within your account you can review the usage of the service and the success of each campaign that you have initiated.
How many recipients can I have within my campaign?
There is no limit. You can send hundreds or hundreds of thousands of messages from within TextCampaign. You decide how many messages to send.
Can I schedule when the SMS campaign is sent?
Yes you can. The scheduler function within TextCampaign enables you to set a date and time for the campaign to be sent.
In addition to scheduling your SMS campaign for later sending, you can also set the campaign to be sent during the day, rather than in one go. You can set a specific number or percentage of messages to be sent at either each time period (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours), or during specific hours of the day.
Sending your SMS campaign at different times during the day is known as "smoothing". Smoothing ensures that the messages of your campaign aren't all sent at the same time, helping you better manage the responders to your SMS campaign.
How long do the messages take to arrive with the recipients?
It depends on how many messages you are sending. Messages can be delivered in a few seconds. If you have tens or hundreds of thousands of messages to be delivered, messages can take up to a few minutes to be received. TextCampaign is designed for high volume marketing campaigns where the messages must be swiftly, reliably and consistently delivered.
Do I see a delivery report for each mobile phone within my campaign?
Yes you do. You can review the overall performance of a particular campaign. You can also review the delivery success of the message to each individual mobile phone.
Do I have to login each time I wish to send a message?
Yes. This is a necessary security consideration so that no other person abuses your account.
Do you have online help?
Yes, we do. Once in the application there are instructions and online help screens to answer your questions. However, you can always call us with any question, however small it may appear.
How does the Opt-out List work?
When you send a message out to your recipients you can invite them to text the word STOP back by return if they don’t want to receive any further messages from you. We automatically add the recipient to your account’s Opt-out List. Then if you accidentally try to send a text to them through any of our services we’ll not send the message. This helps you to conform to the latest legislation on anti-spamming.
Do you use the mobile phone numbers for marketing purposes?
No we do not. We conform to the stringent regulations of the Data Protection Act. Your user details, contact details, message recipient details, and message sender details are yours and confidential to you.
No hidden charges for replies, support or features. Just pay for the services you use.
