Restrictions when sending messages to Singapore?

New rules have been issued in Singapore which ban the marketing of Moneylenders via SMS. This is being taken very seriously and we understand there are a number of police investigations taking place.

The new rules add these marketing exclusions to the existing Moneylenders Act, and specifically states in 2.2 of the directive :

Notwithstanding paragraph
2.1, the following advertising channels are not permitted:

in the form of Short Message Service (SMS) messages and e-mails sent to the general public, patrons of the licensee or former patrons of the licensee.

You can view the full directive here : _ Moneylenders advertisements.pdf

Please ensure that no messages that terminate in Singapore are sent with this type of traffic profile .
