New rules have been issued in Singapore which ban the marketing of Moneylenders via SMS. This is being taken very seriously and we understand there are a number of police investigations taking place. The new rules add these marketing exclusions to the existing Moneylenders Act, and specifically states in 2.2 of the directive :Notwithstanding paragraph2.1, the following advertising channels are not permitted:Advertisementsin the form of Short Message Service (SMS) messages and e-mails sent to the general public, patrons of the licensee or former patrons of the licensee. You can view the full directive here :https://www.mlaw.gov.sg/content/dam/minlaw/rom/Moneylenders/Directions _ Moneylenders advertisements.pdfPlease ensure that no messages that terminate in Singapore are sent with this type of traffic profile .
